Online Casinos Ratings - Restaurant Industry Might Prefer Online Casinos

Everyone knows that at casinos you get food – and sometimes plenty of it. But how do casinos affect the food market, and namely restaurants, when they enter an area and begin competition? Land-based casinos have been causing this particular problem to restaurateurs, and in Northern New Mexico, a ring of tribal casinos has really 'stolen the thunder' from local eateries. With this kind of competition taking place, it would seem more likely that restaurant owners would favor online casinos rather than their land-based peers. The food issue simply isn't an issue when it comes to online casinos.

'It is unfair competition,' says Florence Jaramillo, owner of the restaurant now celebrating 40 years in business. 'I'm lucky I've built up a good, solid local clientele,' she continues. However, in other parts of New Mexico, the expansion of casinos has had a negligible affect on the restaurant industry. 'I haven't seen an impact at all,' says Terry Keene, who owns a local cafe in downtown Albuquerque. Online casinos members can surely see the advantages of online casinos and Internet gambling when it comes to the protection of small businesses and their ability to thrive.

Complaints from restaurant owners like Jaramillo called for the New Mexico Restaurant Association to commission the University of New Mexico's Bureau of Business and Economic Research to research the affect of the rise in casinos on the state's restaurant industry. Completed earlier this year, the study concludes that in the smaller, rural counties, restaurant receipts since 1999 declined by about $50 million. 1999 was the year in which tribal casinos opened their doors in New Mexico. That shows an approximate tax loss of about $3.25 million a year for the state. For this reason, it could be that many of the restaurant owners would be more willing to see the growth of online casinos continue and the spread of tribal casinos cease. For online casinos, this situation is definitely food for thought.
